Act 13 of 1997 requires immediate reporting by a facility that has reasonable cause to believe thats one of their residents has been a victim of abuse. This includes skilled nursing, personal care, adult day care, home health care, and others.

Act 169 of 1996 requires facilities to obtain a criminal history background on employees in order to work in the facility.   as amended by Act 13 of 1997.
