2010-12 Corrected Physician Fee Schedule
- Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has released a corrected Relative Value Unit (RVU) file for 2011 that incorporates the changes included in the Medicare and Medicaid Extenders Act of 2010 that was signed into law by President Obama on December 15, 2010. The conversion factor for 2011 will be 33.9764.

2010-10 DPW Proposed Bulletin Identifying Preventable Serious Adverse Events for Nursing Facilities

On October 16, 2010, the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare (DPW) published the long-awaited proposed bulletin that identifies Preventable Serious Adverse Events (PSAEs) for nursing facilities. Under the Preventable Serious Adverse Events Act (Act 1), a health care provider may not knowingly seek payment from a h201ealth payer or patient for a PSAE or for any services required to correct or treat the problem created by a PSAE when that event occurred under his or her control.

2010-10 Removing Countersignature Requirements for CRNPs

PA DOH Bulletin 28 (October 2, 2010) amends the code and removes the requirement that a physician cosign a CRNP’s signature on resident records, including progress notes, physical examination reports, treatments and medications. This is effective immediately. It does not remove requirements for PAs.
