About PMDA
The Pennsylvania Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine is an organization of long-term care professionals committed to the continuous improvement of quality care for Pennsylvanians across the long-term care continuum. PMDA will provide advocacy, education, and professional development services for medical directors, physicians, nurse practitioners, and other health care team members.

Association Objectives
- To promote excellence in medical care for residents of all ages in nursing homes and other long-term care settings.
- To promote peer education among medical directors, attending, referring, and consulting physicians on nursing home staffs and in long-term settings.
- To assist non-medical providers, consultants, nursing home staff, and regulatory agencies in maintaining high standards of resident care.
- To assist family and others in the understanding, acceptance and assistance for residents in long-term care.
- To establish and promote educational programs for maintaining a high standard of professional care in long-term institutions.
- To act as liaison with other professional organizations and individuals to promote quality resident care.
- To promote the enactment of laws, regulations and payment systems to accomplish these objectives.

- Shall be an advocate for all persons who reside in the facility.
- Shall strive to advance personal and professional knowledge, including the area of medical education.

- Shall do their utmost to serve as a model of personal and professional integrity and skills.
- Shall respect the law while recognizing the responsibility to seek changes in the law for the best interests of the people entrusted to their care.
- Shall work diligently with all professional colleagues to create a milieu that fosters the highest attainable degree of care.
- Shall always place the competent, compassionate care of all their patients above any financial reward or inducements.
- Shall recognize a responsibility to participate in those activities that contribute to an improved community.
