The process requires specific training in the roles and responsibilities of the Medical Director, recognizes that there are both clinical and administrative roles in the profession, and requires recertification every six years. An overview of the Certified Medical Director (CMD) Certification Process can be found here. Additional information including key topics, course format, faculty, and registration can be found here. Throughout the year, PMDA offers continuing education programs that provide CMD accreditation to help you achieve and maintain your certification.
